Fall Festivals Near Buckeye Lake: Your 2026 GuideSweet corn, bluegrass, giant pumpkins, and the best county fair in Ohio — all within an easy drive of your campsite. There's a reason so many of our seasonal families say fall is their favorite time at the lake. The water goes quiet, the crowds thin out, the evenings get cool enough for a fire, and the whole region seems to throw a party every single weekend. From Labor Day right through the end of October, central Ohio turns into one long stretch of festivals — and Buckeye Beach Park sits right in the middle of it. Here's what's on the calendar for fall 2026, starting with the one happening practically in our backyard. Millersport Sweet Corn Festival — September 2–5If you only make it to one festival all fall, make it this one. The Millersport Lions Sweet Corn Festival runs Wednesday through Saturday of Labor Day week at Historic Lions Park on Chautauqua Boulevard — a short hop around the lake from the park. Locals just call it Corn Days, and it's been running for more than 75 years. Admission is free and so are the concerts. This year brings Diamond Rio on Friday and the Little River Band on Saturday, plus more than twenty midway rides, tractor pulls, parades, contests all week long, and the Ken Keener Classic 5K on Saturday morning. New this year, kids can try the First Bite fishing tanks in the Covered Bridge Area. And of course, there's the corn itself — roasted, buttered, and served all weekend. Camper tip: The 5K route runs along the old Ohio & Erie Canal past Weldon's Ice Cream Factory and the historic Summerland Beach Hotel. Even if you're not running it, it makes a beautiful morning walk. The Backwoods Fest, Thornville — September 18–20This is the one that really kicks off fall around the lake. Tucked into sixty wooded acres on High Point Road in Thornville, The Backwoods Fest brings together more than 300 artisan vendors, thirty-plus kinds of food, and three straight days of bluegrass across multiple stages. Now in its 31st year, it's held rain or shine on the third weekend of September. Come hungry and wear real shoes. Much of the food is cooked over open fire in cast-iron kettles, and the whole thing winds through gravel and mulch paths in the woods, so it's not the day for sandals. Admission runs $12 with kids ten and under free, parking is complimentary, and tractor-pulled wagons shuttle you from the lot to the gates. Hours are 8 to 6 on Friday and Saturday, 8 to 5 on Sunday. Harvest Moon Festival, Granville — Early OctoberThe Licking Park District puts on a free afternoon festival at Infirmary Mound Park on Lancaster Road just outside Granville, and it's a favorite with the grandkids crowd. Expect food trucks, a farm petting zoo, carriage rides, rock climbing, archery, bounce houses, pumpkin painting, and craft tables — all free, no registration, just show up. It typically
